PUNTA GORDA, Mon., Dec. 11 – The Charlotte County Democratic Women’s Club held its annual holiday luncheon at F.M. Don’s in Punta Gorda. For the past several years, as part of this annual celebration the club has collected gifts for the mothers in the Families First program, a homeless program through the Charlotte Public Schools. Renee Rebhan, the Homeless Education Liaison spoke at the luncheon, informing members about the program and expressing her appreciation for the gifts on behalf of the mothers.
Cara Reynolds, a candidate for the Charlotte County School Board District 1, also spoke at the luncheon. Reynolds is a former Charlotte County Teacher, a local business person, and parent of three young children. She says her teaching experience and master’s degree in education will benefit the District. Reynolds says teachers and school employees should have a voice on the board.
