The Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee (CCDEC), and is the official Democratic Party organization in Charlotte County, Florida. Commonly referred to as the Democratic Party of Charlotte County, or the Charlotte County Democrats, the CCDEC works in conjunction with The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) and Democratic National Committee (DNC). We are the official party spokespeople and representative for Charlotte County, FL.
Our primary functions are voter registration, voter outreach and, supporting Democrat candidates at the local, state, and national level.
We’re locals working every day to build the political infrastructure that supports Democrats in Charlotte County and beyond. We encourage all voters to compare our core values to their own.

Charlotte County currently has two chartered Democratic clubs. These organizations assist the local party in outreach and implementing our action plans. Clubs are different from caucuses because clubs are governed by local county DECs and do not have statewide relationships.

The Florida Democratic Party believes that all people have the right to be heard and to participate in the system. The FDP has developed statewide Caucuses where people of like minds and beliefs can join together to organize their communities within the Democratic Party. A caucus is an organization that has chartered with the State Democratic Party to operate as an official branch, and to recruit and operate county-level organizations. Caucuses are different from clubs because clubs are governed by local county DECs and do not have statewide relationships.
The Democratic Black Caucus was established in 1983, to unite and increase the political power for Black Democrats who went unnoticed. The Caucus is an integral part of the Florida Democratic Party's infrastructure, which unites talent with opportunity to facilitate voter building through educational forums effecting voter registration drives (EVRD), get out the vote (GOTV), voter action network (VAN), vote by mail (VBM), and support qualified candidates approved by the Black Caucus.http://www.floridadems.org/our-party/caucuses
The Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Florida’s mission is to stimulate a participating interest in public affairs that will foster better and more representative government for Hispanics; increase the political power and influence of Hispanics Democrats within the Florida Democratic Party; unite the Hispanic Democrats in the State of Florida; promote principles of the Democratic party at all levels; encourage qualified Hispanic citizens to become candidates for public office and support applicable campaign efforts to elect all Democratic party nominees; support and solicit for legislation and government action on a national, state, county and local level which reflects the best interest of the Hispanic community; provide on-going support to the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Florida herein referred to as DHCF. While DWCF is not a chartered caucus under FDP, DWCF is recognized as the women's "caucus" of the Florida Democratic Party because of DWCF's full membership in the National Federation of Democratic Women since the early 1980's. NFDW has three seats on the Democratic National Committee. The DWCF was formed to bring together all Democratic Women’s Clubs in Florida to provide a forum for discussion of public matters, to provide organized support to qualified candidates for public office, and to encourage qualified Democratic women to seek elected office. The DWCF Campaign Resource Committee provides access to information vital to those seeking office. The DWCF Political Committee helps fund candidates endorsed by DWCF, Inc. The DWCF Legislative Committee serves as the hub of activities during the Legislative Session as members monitor and lobby for or against legislation that has a dramatic impact on the lives of Floridians. As a part of DWCF's legislative activism, DWCF holds an annual "Tally Days", when members gather in force to advocate to legislators in Florida's state capitol. As an extension of the Florida Democratic Party, this organization is dedicated to supporting young Democrats. The Florida Young Democrats believe that the future of our party depends upon actively building political, social, and business connections between Democrats aged 40 years and younger. We further believe in tolerance, inclusion, and active participation in local, regional, and state government.
A voice that seeks to instill awareness of the freedoms of a democratic society, educate future leaders, support the community at large, and maintain an ongoing rapport and increasing viability with political entities. Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large. We seek individual freedom in the framework of a just society and political freedom in the framework of meaningful participation by all citizens. The Democratic Caribbean Caucus of Florida’s mission is to generate a significant increase of political support for the Democratic Caribbean Community for its four basic and main issues: Immigration, Economic Development, Education, and equivalent political support for Caribbean candidates. We will achieve our mission through organizing Democratic Caribbeans and increasing participation in the Florida Democratic Party. The FDP Disability Caucus provides those with disabilities, both visible and invisible, and those within the Democratic Party to whom the rights of citizens with disabilities, both visible and invisible, are of concern, a strong voice and representation within the Florida Democratic Party.http://www.floridadems.org/our-party/caucuses
The Small County Coalition represents the rural counties of Florida, which is more than half of Florida's 67 counties. Although none of these counties has a Democratic voter registration over 40,000, the Coalition makes up a large Democratic voting bloc in Florida.http://www.floridadems.org/our-party/caucuses
The Florida College Democrats is a student run organization that focuses on the democratic development of students on college campuses across the state of Florida. This group has chapters at many major universities across Florida including UCF, UF, UM, FIU, FSU, and more. It's main purpose is to educate students on the importance of the political process, train students to be politically active, and get democrats elected. Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida
The Democratic Business Caucus of Florida was created during the summer of 2011 in order to build business relationships, share information and promote green businesses to better support Democratic candidates and issues. Manatee County became its first local chapter in October and other chapters are being formed in Sarasota and Palm Beach. The caucus features networking meetings, speakers, Democratically-owned business telephone directories as well as Democratic business flyers and organizational PowerPoint presentations for counties interested in forming local chapters.
DECF supports Florida lawmakers, candidates, legislation and businesses that preserve, protect and enhance Florida’s natural resources. The Caucus will help elect to public office environmentally literate Democratic candidates who endorse suitable action on environmentally critical issues. The Netroots Coalition was created to help bring together bloggers and Netroots activists who support the Democratic Party. The mission of the organization is to contribute to the growth and influence of the Democratic Party, to establish and maintain a Democratic online community, and to promote the party and all party candidates for Democratic leadership throughout the state and nation. We also seek to assist and encourage Florida Democrats, including clubs, county, and grassroots organizations to get online and establish a communication network and promote online participation among Democrats.
The Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida serves to strengthen and maintain a relationship between the progressive community and the Democratic Party. The Caucus builds on the foundation of the progressive history of the Democratic Party to promote the continued development and growth of the Democratic Party's core ideals and principles.
Chartered in July 2010, the Democratic Haitian American Caucus of Florida (DHACF) seeks to educate voters about the importance of participating in local and national elections. The mission of the Caucus is to: a) help elect great Democrats, including those of Haitian descent, b) promote Comprehensive Immigration Reform, and c)support international efforts to rebuild Haiti. Our Officers meet bi-monthly and our General Membership Events are held quarterly. In addition, the Caucus organizes a series of annual events designed to increase its membership while promoting the rich culture of the Haitian people.
The American Muslim Democratic Caucus (AMDC) was established to unite and provide representation for the very diverse American Muslim community within the Florida Democratic Party structure. The Caucus promotes the welfare of all American Muslims through effective legislation and by inspiring the uniquely diverse community to fully participate as Democrats at all levels of public service and policy making. AMDC‘s mission is to Educate, Engage, and Empower the American Muslim Community in Florida; to stimulate a participating interest in public affairs that will foster better and more representative government for all Americans; promote principles of the Democratic party at all levels; encourage qualified American Muslim Democrats to become candidates for public office; support applicable Democratic candidates and increase the number of registered and active American Muslim Democratic voters in Florida; advocate for legislation and government action on a national, state, county and local level which reflects the best interest of the all Americans.
The Florida Democratic Senior Caucus which was established for seniors throughout the state, and at all levels, to voice their concerns in all matters affecting seniors. The Senior Caucus was chartered 2013 by the Florida Democratic Party to operate as an official branch of the party. Its mission is to stimulate seniors, and others, to participate at all levels where issues affecting seniors should be addressed fully. The Florida Democratic Senior Caucus exist to assist county caucuses in organizing to better represent the needs and concerns of seniors on the county level. The application of each senior caucus is received and reviewed by the State Senior Caucus, forwarded to the Party Chair for the recommendation to the Committee on Clubs, Organizations, and Caucuses for review to grant, and vote on by the State Central Committee.
